Ah,
Black Canary! I'm thrilled she's made it on to episodes of JLU.
I truly hope Mattel sees fit to make an official version. Until
then, this will have to do.
The body is
the first version of Mattel's Wonder Woman, chosen primarily
for the heels. The right arm was swapped for the last Hasbro
Poison
Ivy's right arm. Kneadatite makes up the sleeves, sleeve and
boot cuffs, and the jacket itself. Her choker collar is simply
vinyl.
The head....
is something I'm not 100% happy with. I chose the Jack-in-the-Box
Batgirl head for two reasons: 1) It's a rounder shape than other
female animated heads, and Canary's head is rounder than, say,
Wonder Woman's. 2) I wanted some variety on the shelf. (Lots
of Wonder Woman and Witchblade heads being used lately.) Ultimately,
this may not have been the best choice, as the eyes are a bit
too far apart and angled. Her hair is shaped from Kneadatite,
though it too is less than perfect. Those are tough shapes to
replicate! I may yet try the head again. In the meantime, here's
hoping the "If I take the trouble to make it, then Mattel will
follow" curse is in effect.
