Most customs I make start out with the desire to make a particular character. From that point I wait until I find an appropriate base. In the case of Dr. Hugo Strange, that process was reversed. I must admit, Hugo was never high on my priority list. Then one day I saw this crazy little karate-chopping Dragonball Z guy. He was short, wore an Asian jacket and was bald with a beard and glasses. It took me a few days before I realized he reminded me of Dr. Strange.

At that point I compared the base to Hugo's design. I found they were similar, but not exact. Hugo was almost a hunchback. But my enthusiasm would not be abated. So I consider this to be my interpretation of Dr. Hugo Strange if he appeared in a new school episode.

I trimmed the coat, creating his vest, and sanded down the area under his neck, creating the tie, and gave him a hand swap. The head is a cast of an old school Mr. Freeze. (Thanks for the idea, Yer Pal Boneyard!) His goatee is Kneadatite. As I write this, I realize I forgot to give his jacket lapels. Oh well. Let's just say Hugo's a fan of utilitarian fashion.
