Since I was already making an accurate Kyle Rayner in his original
outfit, I figured I might as well make a figure of his second uniform,
too. Comparing the appearances from "Superman: The Animated
Series" to "Justice League Unlimited," it seems Kyle's
been bulking up. Thus I chose a John Stewart (non-articulated) figure
as the base. I filled in the etched lines with Magic-Sculpt and
smoothed with sandpaper.
As with the
first appearance figure, I chose a Mattel Nightwing head for Kyle's
noggin. Unlike Kyle's first version, the JLU mask is almost identical
in shape to Nightwing's. There are some slight difference in the
angles of the lines, but not enough to alter at this small scale
without damaging the face. The hair, while not identical between
the two, is reasonably similar. I Dremeled down to the pompadour
a bit, and the rest passes well enough.
The rest is
just paint and a laser printed emblem. Though it appears slightly
washed-out in the photos, the emblem is a near-perfect match to
the green paint I mixed for all my Green Lantern figures.
