I've wanted to make a Mongul custom ever since For the Man Who Has Everything aired. (The less said about War World the better.) I've seen many Mongul customs since then. While some are excellent, none seemed to capture his essence as closely as I'd like. This is my attempt.

The most important piece, of course, is the head. Once again, I have Glassman to thank. His sculpt was dead-on, and enabled me to go forward with the project.

Most Mongul customs are built on a Mattel Darkseid. I followed suit with the legs and arms. All four have been heavily modified, as seen in the work in progress photo below. Note the three fingers, versus the original four.

Mattel's Darkseid torso, however, is pretty far removed from Mongul. (For that matter, it's pretty far removed from accuracy for Darkseid, too.) To get the right shape, I used a Jollibee Superman torso left over from my Bane custom. (Thanks Peter!)

The details are Magic Sculpt and vinyl. The result is a bit rough, but I'm still pleased with him. He's big and imposing, and that's what I was aiming for.
